So I spake unto you, and ye hearkened not; but ye rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah, and were presumptuous, and went up into the hill-country.

Verse 43. And though this is declared to it, the unregenerate will will not hear, but rebels against the warning given from heaven, and exposes the soul to temptation, and endeavours presumptuously in its own strength to enter into states for which it is not prepared.
